Jane moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1979. Her first job, fresh out of college at the University of Minnesota with a journalism degree, was as a reporter at the brand new Snowmass Sun weekly newspaper. There followed some 15 years in the newspaper business, including a decade at the Aspen Times, the last few years there as arts/ entertainment editor.
In 1996, Jane and a partner opened Mountain Soles shoe store in El Jebel, where she learned hands-on about small business operations, including business plans, marketing, advertising and selling.
"My goal is to earn the trust of my clients - both sellers and buyers - by providing reliable, quality service," says Jane, who promises to:
- Provide a written, detailed comparative market analysis to help a seller make informed, intelligent decisions on pricing
- Help sellers prepare written, accurate property condition reports and provide written suggestions on ways to enhance curb appeal and prepare the home for an open house
- Provide a written marketing plan on what I will do to get a property sold (MLS listing, open houses, signs, flyers, advertising, mailings, and personal calls to my client base)
- Communicate with my clients as frequently as they wish, and in a manner they desire for example, prompt return of phone calls, presenting all offers at earliest opportunity, immediate e-mails on new listings, quick replies to your questions
- Provide resources on lenders, appraisers, inspectors, house cleaners, movers, storage and other industry service providers, as needed
- Respect my clients, their property and their time
Jane's biggest pleasure is helping people realize their dream of home ownership. She knows from firsthand experience that perseverance, patience and plain old-fashioned hard work go a long way towards realizing individual real estate goals and dreams. Daughter Cara is off to Fort Lewis College in Durango, leaving Jane and her husband Mike, a carpenter, more time to enjoy hiking with their two terriers, skiing, going to classic car shows and soaking in the region's many hot springs.
